| MT. PARNELL GOLDFISH---A HEALTHY PRODUCT
Mt. Parnell Laboratory Station |
The millions of fish produced annually at Mt. Parnell Fisheries are extremely
healthy. These fish are constantly monitored by a staff of professional fish culturists from the time they are 10 days old until they are finally shipped from the hatchery as a marketable fish. Mt. Parnell maintains a diagnostic laboratory on site |
| for use in examining all fish.
This laboratory is used primarily for diagnosis of parasitic disorders that are the main problem with young goldfish.
Once the young fry hatch they are examined every several days for the presence of parasites that may be devastating to a young fish population. The young fish are very delicate and common parasites must be controlled to insure the production of a healthy crop of goldfish.
As the fish grow they are examined on a regular schedule and given required treatments to guarantee their health.
Once the fish reaches a marketable size they are carefully harvested from the pond and brought to the storage shed to prepare them for shipment to the customers. Once the fish are placed in the holding facility they are given prophylactic treatments for disease prevention.
The fish produced by Mt. Parnell Fisheries have been certified free of disease for shipment into the United Kingdom. This inspection involves biannual inspections of all lots of fish for 4 viral diseases known to infect fish. Mt. Parnell's fish have been negative for all 4 viruses since starting the tests in 1996.

Mt. Parnell offers the professional services of their staff biologists to all established customers needing assistance with issues concerning fish health. |
